I wanted to say what a pleasure it was meeting you both today and to thank you for my lovely thinking of you gift bag. I have already been enjoying my nice soothing music CD here at the office. I'm sure I will enjoy all my other goodies as well. I think what your organization is doing is just wonderful and I will do my best to pass the word along.
*National Women of Colors Cancer Foundation takes the opportunity to thank Cincinnati Sister Network for donating the thinking of you bags to our pampering the spirit program.
Hello my name is Denise W. and I received your message last week regarding assistance with my Duke energy bill. I thank you so much for your help.
Thank you so very much

Dear Debbie and Nationl Women of Colors Cancer Foundation
I would like to let your supporters know that I appreciate the financial assistance with my Duke Energy Bill during this difficult time.
I was diagnosed in August of 2006 with Breast Cancer. I am one of those who did not feel any lumps and thought there was no genetic possibility. I had delayed getting a mammogram. The first one came up positive at the age of 46. Sometime due to lack of insurance - I did not see the urgency.
I wish I had known more people with Breast Cancer ahead of time. You would hope that your doctor would steer you in the right direction.
I ended up with several who misled me. I ended up having 2 different lumpectomies on the same breast, a mastectomy and reconstruction. There were complications from the reconstruction using my stomach. The incision opened up and I had a hole in my stomach for almost 3 months. The chemo doctor who wanted to start chemo before my stomach healed. The Port-a-cath that was put in the wrong vien and a few other problems.
Going through such an ordeal should not have happened. Then you do not think about looking for help when you are going through such trials. It is not easy finding financial assistance. The bills just pile up because you don't feel like the hassel or it depresses you beacause there are so many.
I believe CANCERCARE referred NWCCF to me. A lot of the organizations out there are for people with no insurance - THESE ARE THE SAME PEOPLE WHO WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO FIND ASSISTANCE OR GO TO A DOCTOR.
Again, Thank you for your help.

Hello! Debbi and the National Women of Colors Cancer Foundation. The holiday period may be a time for reflection...and a time for Thanksgiving. It's my hope that all is going all right for you and your loved ones.
As I ponder over event(s) of the past year: You really did a commendable set up in you back yard. ("Mat-ta-nah Park") For your annual Mothers Day gathering, it was quite enjoyable.
May divine grace shine upon you.
